Anuj asks Shruti if she will come with him to the Shah house now or later. Shruti inquires why he is going so early. Anuj explains that it’s a wedding house and there are many tasks to handle. He mentions that Dimpy is like a daughter to him, and by being there, he can assist Baa and Babuji. He adds that he dropped Aadhya off there and wants to check on her, even though he knows she is well cared for.
He then asks Shruti if he should wait for her. Just then, Shruti receives a message from a food critic, which Anuj notices. Shruti says she’ll need time to get ready and tells him to go ahead. Anuj leaves, and Shruti calls Ms. Smith to arrange a meeting. Anuj, meanwhile, wonders why Shruti is acting strangely and suspects she feels insecure after seeing him with Anu.
Aadhya is helping the kids with their food. Anupama observes that in a household, younger children often look up to the eldest child and follow their lead. Baa asks Aadhya to eat, but Kavya offers to feed her instead. She then signals Anupama to join in feeding Aadhya.
Anupama, emotionally moved, feeds Aadhya but hides when Aadhya is about to see her. Kavya thanks Anupama for helping. Baa expresses to Babuji her concerns about leaving their loving family behind. Babuji insists that they must.
Vanraj wonders where Titu’s friend has disappeared. Anupama steps in front of him, and he remarks that she’s blocking his path, predicting his plans will now fail. Anupama counters, hoping his bad intentions do not come to fruition. Vanraj walks away, and Devika decides to follow him.
She tells Kavya something seems amiss with Vanraj’s plans and vows to thwart them if necessary. Dimpy appears, worried about her makeup and lehenga fitting. Anupama reassures her, saying she will be the most beautiful bride. Despite Dimpy’s uneasy feeling, Anupama insists nothing will go wrong.
Anupama steps outside to get sweets and gets into Anuj’s car. Anuj confesses he couldn’t sleep all night, torn by indecision. When Baa approaches, Anupama asks Anuj to let her go, and he agrees. Meanwhile, Devika follows Vanraj, overhearing his conversation with an inspector and wondering who they are searching for. When she turns, Vanraj is right behind her. Devika claims she recorded everything and threatens to show it to Baa and Babuji.
Vanraj laughs, stating she doesn’t understand what he was discussing with them. He taunts her to tell Anupama to focus on breaking Shruti and Anuj’s marriage instead of saving Dimpy and Titu’s. He then walks away singing a tune.
Ms. Smith and Shruti meet at the restaurant. Ms. Smith remarks, “After the spice and chutney incident, you completely disappeared.” Shruti recalls Anuj telling her that it wasn’t Anupama’s fault. Ms. Smith continues, “You were so desperate to meet me.
I just wanted to warn the management of Spice and Chutney, but because of your insistence, I reported the incident to the health and hygiene department and leaked the news to the media.” Shruti thinks to herself, “I did this so Spice and Chutney would close, and Anupama would return to India, but I didn’t anticipate the issue becoming so big.
” Ms. Smith thanks Shruti, saying, “Because of you, I did the right thing. People need to be punished and taught a hard lesson.” A waiter hands a parcel to Anupama, who is sitting at another table. Ms. Smith congratulates Shruti on her upcoming marriage. Shruti invites Ms. Smith to the wedding but adds, “My fiancé doesn’t know about the Spice and Chutney fiasco, and I’d like to keep it that way.” Ms. Smith reassures her, “Don’t worry, it’s our secret now.” They clink glasses in a toast.
Anupama turns towards them. As Ms. Smith tries to leave, Anupama stops her. “You… the American food critic, you’re famous. You don’t like spice and flavor, but for the public, you spread fully spicy and fake news,” Anupama accuses.
“You just said you did the right thing, but it wasn’t my fault. I begged you, saying it was foul play, but you didn’t listen. It was a setup by Gulati, and Shruti knows about it. I will return to America and prove my innocence. You should have some shame and write the truth.” Ms. Smith leaves in silence.
Anuj, who is on a call, ends it as Aadhya comes and hugs him. “I couldn’t sleep all night knowing you were here,” he says. Aadhya replies, “The kids ate food with my hand and slept with me last night.” Anuj asks if she is happy, and Aadhya responds, “Very much.” Dimpy informs Aadhya that Ansh is calling for her, and she goes. Anuj teases Dimpy, who says, “We should not give up on our love and must fight till the last breath.”
Anupama confronts Shruti, “If you had such a problem with me, you should have attacked me directly. Why did you target my work, my workplace, my coworkers, my dreams, my self-respect, my strength, my talent?” She continues, “If you hated me so much, you should have told me to my face, but you backstabbed me like a coward. My heart was already broken, but you destroyed my temple too.
” Shruti retorts, “What proof do you have that I did this? It’s your job to ruin people and their personal lives.” Anupama counters, “Then you should have ruined my personal life, not my professional life.” Shruti responds, “I don’t care.” Anupama insists, “I do care.” Anuj calls Shruti, but she ends the call.
Anuj then calls Anupama. Shruti, puzzled, asks, “Why is AK calling you?” Anupama replies, “We are talking about ourselves now. Why did you do this to me?” Shruti angrily tells her, “Look at yourself and think about what you did to me.
You tried to take Anuj from me, came to New York intentionally to get him, and used your tears to get closer to him. You didn’t come for Aadhya, but to make a place in Anuj’s heart. We were about to marry, but you came along and our marriage hasn’t happened yet. You did wrong by me, and now you’re lecturing me on right and wrong.” Anupama stands there, shocked.
